Joan "Joanie" Hickman, 95, passed away Saturday, July 31 in Camarillo after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she moved to California in the 1950s. Joan was a daily communicant at St. Mary Magdalen in Camarillo and enjoyed teaching yoga, traveling around the world and singing. For the last five years Joan was cared for by LivHome and recently by Roze Room Hospice.

She is survived by her nieces, Adrienne Crockett of Williams, Ariz., Georganne Robertson of Willoughby, Ohio; and nephew, Daniel Amon of Alexandria, Va.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; sisters, Sarah De Fogie and Geri Amon; and brother, Herbert Lovang, all of Cleveland, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 1075 E. Daily Dr., Camarillo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Las Posas and Crestview, with burial to follow.
