|Clark, Robert J.|
Bob Clark passed away suddenly Nov. 28, 2009. He had just celebrated his ninetieth birthday.
A noted aircraft designer at North American Aviation and Northrup, Bob is well remembered as lead designer of the XAJ Bomber and also, his years in Europe developing the international company for NAA. Later in his career he was named a delegate to NATO, where he was assigned to the prestigious NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG), a high-level consultative and advisory body of senior industrialists.
As a corporate volunteer, Bob headed the Los Angeles Jobs Training Program for disadvantaged youth, served as president of the Los Angeles Private Industry Council and participated in many other service organizations, including Rotary International. An alumnus of Cal Tech, Bob was deeply admired and loved by all who knew him.
When he retired in 1988, he and his wife moved to their waterfront home on Hollywood Beach. They joined Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club in Channel Islands Harbor.
A true gentleman in the finest sense of the word, Bob leaves his wife "Midge" and many loving family members and friends. Private family services will be held. Burial at sea will be arranged at a later date.
