The loving family of Virginia Ryan Clark sadly announces that Virginia passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 in Woodland Hills after a brief illness. She was 88 years old and a resident of Camarillo.
Born in Draper, Utah in 1921, Virginia was the eldest child of John Douglas and Mildred Dunyon Ryan and grew up on the Wah Wah Ranch near Milford, Utah. A graduate of Utah State University, she pursued a long and rewarding career as a school teacher for nearly 40 years including 30 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
A longtime resident of Southern California, Virginia lived in the San Fernando Valley and La Conchita (Ventura) before moving to Camarillo. She married Harry William Clark in 1949 and celebrated their fiftieth anniversary before losing her devoted husband in 2000.
Virginia is survived by her sons, William Douglas Clark and Walter John Clark; grandchildren, Matthew John Clark and Shannon Courtney Clark; and brothers, John D. Ryan and Sherman H. Ryan. Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapel, 1075 E. Daily Drive, Camarillo.
Donations to the United Way are requested in lieu of flowers.
