Randy M. Diener, D.D.S. died peacefully at home June 9,2020.
Born June 25,1948 in Detroit, Michigan, Randy was the oldest of 7 children and the "Sheriff of the House". Randy graduated from Western Michigan in 1970 and played Offensive Tackle on the Broncos football team. He graduated from University of Michigan Dental School in 1974. There he met and married his wife of 46 1/2 years, Kathy.
Randy established his Dental office in Traverse City , Michigan. After 11 years he decided to specialize and moved his family to the Los Angeles area. He spent 2 years in the VA/UCLA Prosthodontic Residency and 1 additional year at UCLA to become a Maxillo-Facial Prosthodontist. He eventually returned to run the VA/UCLA Prosthodontic program He retired from the Westwood VA after 23 years with the Dental Service.
Randy loved to Ski, sail, run, play the harmonica and the Ukulele, and watercolor paint. But most of all he loved to be with his family.
Randy is survived by his wife Kathy(nee) Florek, his children Alison (Mike) Andrews, Cara (Xabi) Laduche, and Nick( Christina) Diener. Also , his adored grandchildren : Naia laduche, Xana Laduche, Camden Diener, and Emmett Diener. He leaves behind his sisters Cindy Storch, Lisa Sklar, Meg Walter and his brothers Chris and Peter Diener. He was preceded in death by his sister Holly.
Randy was a parishioner of St. Julie Billiart in Newbury Park. His Memorial Mass will be held there on Monday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m.
